Sophie Breedstraet is an emergency nurse by training, holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Catholic University of Louvain in French-speaking Belgium and a CAPAES (Certificat d’Aptitude Pédagogique à l’Enseignement Supérieur).
From 1991 to 2001, she held clinical positions in a multi-faceted para-university emergency department before entering higher education.
Since 2001, she has taught various nursing courses before taking on responsibilities for pedagogical coordination, quality and management of teams of trainers at the Leonardo da Vinci University in Brussels.
Successively instructor and course director at ERC Belgium (European Resuscitation Council), she also holds a certificate in disaster medicine.
She is a member of the ARSI and the Consultative Council on Training of the SIDIIEF and is also Vice-President of Fine Bel-Lux.
