Time goes fast… and it seems that the election for me to become
president of FINE was only yesterday! However, five years have passed
since the first time I addressed my words of introduction to all FINE
I’m not saying good bye, but I am telling you that my mission as FINE
President is coming to an end and I’m a happy woman. Some reasons for
this are as follows:
At this moment, I feel that
my work as president is done, and with humility, it is well done: we
are a stronger organization and we have continued the projects of
our predecessors and
new ones have been engaged!
Nursing Education is the
centre of a critical debate and we play the game in an honest way:
being ourselves, with our own characteristics and ensuring the
superior interests of education and educators in Europe.
Nursing Education is a
challenge for the FINE Organization and we are proud to participate
in the evolution and to ensure our members that with them and their
support we try to do the best that we can.
Nursing education is also
rapidly developing trends for the future at an international level:
during this mandate we have worked hard in this respect and we
continue to build new roads for intercontinental collaboration.
It has been an honor and a
responsibility to be FINE President: I’m proud of all our members; their
work, engagement and I believe that social, cultural, scientific and
pedagogical development of nursing education is the future ensuring a
better world for the present and future citizens.
long journey has also had difficulties…, but why speak about these? It
is time to go on building hope and joy for a better health to our
citizens, through good participation in caring and in ensuring that the
FINE motto of "we teach/we care” continues to make sense nowadays: for
nurses, for educators, for students and for careers.
As a dynamic organization, FINE has a new President and a new Executive
Council! I’m sure that, in this continuity we are building our FUTURE!
